I’m convinced that being a native of Colorado, living my life in the vast and varied landscapes here, has given me a passion for natural vistas and dramatic skies.

Years of experimentation have led me to a method of painting that starts in abstract layers of texture and color until I start to see something happening in the paint. I then begin to hone in on a more specific vision and utilize a mix of reference images and the visual lexicon of nature that I have stored up in my memory. I’m fascinated by atmospheric perspective and moody skies. I also love to push and pull abstraction to varying degrees in each piece until it all comes together as an expression of my response to the beauty of creation.
